My husband and I have been busy getting our newly purchased house ready for rent. The hours are long and there is a myriad of tasks complete. And yes, the stress of knowing that it is our hard-earned money on the line does make me what to succeed at getting it rented right away.
That being said, we have enjoyed meeting new people and listening to their stories. It’s satisfying to know that we are creating some security for our future.
As I ponder my work life, social life, and family life, it all comes down to motivation. As busy as I am, I made the time to take an afternoon and go shopping with one of my closest friends. I am motivated to maintain this relationship. We acted like a couple of schoolgirls trying on clothes and testing the new scent at the perfume counter. It was a lot of fun.
I have made countless dinner invitations to my two young adult sons. Sometimes they come and sometimes they are busy with their own lives. However, I am motivated to stay connected to them and be a part of their lives. I want to continue to be a parent for them in whatever fashion they want or need.
As for work, I am motivated to do a good job for my employer. It gives me personal satisfaction knowing that I manage a first-class organization and that the people around me are happy and productive.
I encourage you to find your motivation. Having the right motivation for the right things for the right reasons will allow you to obtain the kind of life that you desire.
